Launched in 2020, Informa Markets Fashion for Change (IMFC) is a new and ongoing corporate initiative whose mission is to foster allyship, inclusion, and equality within the fashion community through programs that support, nurture, and elevate minority-owned brands. Read below for more information about the IMFC’s various programs, both current and upcoming.

IMFC’s Incubator Program

Launched Fall 2020, and timed to the inaugural opening of Informa Markets Fashion’s digital trade events, 10 up-and-coming Black designers were selected for participation in IMFC’s Incubator Program.  This new and ongoing initiative, in partnership with e-commerce platform NuORDER, is aimed at elevating and better supporting new design talent within the Black fashion community through a comprehensive program which included complementary inclusion in the digital trade event for two seasons – Fall 2020 and Spring 2021- as well as editorial features, marketing promotion, and individualized mentorship guidance sourced from IMFC’s Incubator Program Advisory Board members.  Scroll down to view all 10 participating brands and our IMFC Incubator Program Advisory Board members.

IMFC Incubator Grant Program

Further building off the IMFC Incubator Program, the IMFC also launched the IMFC Incubator Grant Program, where 4 of the participating 10 Incubator program designers were selected to receive $10,000 each in grant funding. The Grant program identified two categories of distinction for winning grant recipients – Buyer’s Choice and Industry Awards.  The Buyer’s Choice award winner was selected by participating retailers from the digital event, which encompasses top retail buyers from womenswear, menswear, footwear, and childrenswear industries. The Industry Awards, were chosen by the IMFC Incubator Program Advisory Board members.  Merits of consideration for nomination across both categories included: past and present collections, craftsmanship, design integrity and commercial viability.
